Model/Fashion InsPost: Ayame

The past week or so, I've slowly started to drift from a preference of rokku gals, to the oraora style.... mainy because of this model:

This is Ayame from Soul Sister Magazine, I. LOVE. HER....... style lol. I can't remember how I first ran across her, I think I was browsing for a way to get EDGE Style Magazine delivered overseas and a cover popped up, IDK! I think what stood out the most to me was her hair was cut buzz short, and her personality is ridiculously and crazy sounding! Her eyes just have a way of striking out at you and.. and.. and aaaaugh!!! She's so hot! There I said it!! But really, she is 50% bad ass, 50% gorgeous,  100 awesome.. cheesy I know but whatever. On to the pictures!! These were taken from her blog, I can't find any scans of Soul Sister Magazine, so I'm saving up to order a few copies, at the moment it's not worth it to buy a $5.00 magazine and pay $35.00 in shipping from Japan... F**K THAT! I'm making a list of what to order to get my moneys worth!

And of course, the images that started it all! These were from their facebook fan page ^O^

I just realized I'm so entranced by her that this post barely made any sense unlike my other InsPosts XD oh dear....

Rainy Day Recipe 1: Tilapia!

I never get around to posting these delish recipes that pop into my head!! It's so frustrating and then I forget all about it!! But this time I've finally done it!!! A yummy and healthy tilapia recipe with a delish orange sweet and spicy sauce!!! I hope you guys enjoy the recipe as much as I enjoyed making it, I'll try and keep my camera on hand more often when I come up with these recipes!

Note: This recipe was comprised of leftovers that were in the house, but you can easily pick them up at your local grocery store 。◕‿◕。

Ingredients:
Tilapia (as many or as few as you desire)
Kikkoman Panko (or any brand of bread crumbs)
Eggs (number varies on how much fish you'll be cooking)
A tsp of baking powder (this is optional, I used this because we had no flour
( TДT))
Salt and pepper + plus any other seasonings of your choice (I used garlic salt and Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb)
OLIVE OIL (Unfortunately we had none so I was forced to use vegetable oil, yuck! But to truly make this a good recipe, use olive oil or EVOO, doesn't matter if it's light or not)

Step 1:
My tilapia was individually wrapped and frozen so I had to thaw them in cool water first, luckily it didn't take long! You want to rinse off your fish when thawed and then pat them dry with a paper towel.

Step 2:
Again, if you were maybe doing this the NORMAL way, your battering sequence would be flour -> egg -> panko. But I wasn't about to freeze my butt off in the rain for some flour!! So instead I beat one egg, and added a few pinches of baking powder to the egg mix. I have no idea what this does, but my grandma recommended it! (I think she just wanted to sabotage it was all ヽ( ̄д ̄;)ノ)

Since I lacked flour, I have to be really gentle here so as not to make all the panko fall off!! Much to my surprise, it stayed on pretty well.

Step 3:
Be careful here! Don't want oil to splatter on your fingers and arms! I had the burner on about medium heat, I didn't want the oil bubbles to knock off the panko from the fish. Season the side facing up and let the fish cook for about 7 to 8 minutes and GENTLY flip the fish over. The panko for the majority should still be on! Season the other side and cook for about another 6 to 7 minutes. While these are only estimates, if you are unsure whether or not the fish is done, just split open the thickest part with a knife or fork - if it's pure white with no pinkish juice to be found, you should be good to go!

Ah also, remember to only use enough oil to cook one side at a time, we're not deep frying here!

Step 4:
Once the fillets are done you can either eat it now, or set it aside and work on a sauce - in this case, I'm using a mix of four different items:
  1. Polar Orange Marmalade - Only $1.00 at Shoppers Geocery Store!
  2. Kikkoman Less Sodium Soy Sauce - I try and limit the salt I take in, so this this helps alot :)
  3. Dave's Gourmet Ghost Pepper - WARNING!! THIS S**T IS HOT! I bought it at World Market and we've had it for quite some time (not expired yet though lol), and as you can see, we only use A LITTLE AT A TIME, noted by the fact that the bottle still appears full. Darn thing has it's own warning label and everything for kids and pregnant women ∑(O_O;)
  4. Gunter's Orange Blossom Honey - Since I was sick last week, I've stocked up on honey for all my teas, this brand by far is my favorite, what a coincidence that it's orange blossom too!

Step 5:
O.M.G. guys... I over did the ghost pepper *facepalm* you see that dash of orange/red near the spoon? That's about 2 teaspoons of ghost pepper!! Needless to say I had dilute it with more of everything else so it turned out okay :) If I had to estimate how much I used of each I'd say...
  • About 5 to 6 tbsp of the orange marmalade
  • About 1 tbsp of honey
  • About 2 tsp of ghost pepper (you can always red pepper flakes instead, probably safer too!)
  • About 7 to 8 tbsp of soy sauce
You can always play around with these ratios to your liking, and welcome to make up your own sauce too, I just want to put out there what I used. You'll then want to microwave your sauce for about 35 seconds, and then stir REALLY WELL if you use the ghost pepper, or just stir well otherwise (^_^;) grandma bought these awesome sauce bowls that are BPA free and remains stainless when you heat them up! I'm taking these with me when I move out.

 Step 6:
Sit back and enjoy the deliciousness! I had the stupidest look on my face for sure when I took the first bite, I couldn't stop smiling at how good it was! Here is the fish plated with my over cooked rice.... I got so caught up in making the fish I had forgotten all about it! ( TДT) As you can see there are orange peels spread across the fish, if you use my orange marmalade sauce you can always just filter them out with a fork after heating the mixture up. I like the bitterness of the peel and the sweetness of the marmalade though, so I kept them in. I also made the fish look all fancy by sprinkling the top with black sesame seeds!

Good Luck! Don't burn the house down!!

So Many Happy Feels!!

Yahoooo! Another con is just around the corner!!!! This time will be a bit different though, I'll be taking my little sister (self-proclaimed) to her first anime convention! You can't tell, but she's ridiculously excited - she has this funny trait where if she's really happy, she'll hug you with a straight poker face (it gets creepy sometimes though...). I don't think there will be a gyaru meetup this time (I know a few who are going just to go), but I still want to look kick-ass-tic on Saturday, plus I've made some decent progress on my make:

This was the progression pic I posted on the Black Gyaru Facebook Group. I've customized two of my Red Cherry Lashes to make them fuller and longer along the band to enlarge my eyes! And I'll be sure to do a review of these new lenses I'm wearing too... I PROMISE THIS TIME! The only thing I was criticized on was my for my nose, blush, and my eyebrows >< Once again the blush got drowned out in the picture but the other two points were valid. I'll be practicing on my contour some more but I submitted another picture specifically asking for opinions on my eyebrows to the group after trolling youtube for hours as I was twisting my hair one night. This was my result when I went to church the next morning:

They're bold, and I was quite surprised how they turned out on me since when I used to get my brows done, I would request they be on the thinner side. Everyone loved what I did with my brows, so I can't wait to put this look with my full gyaru make! I'm not going to lie though, the eyebrows by themselves take bloody forever to perfect X.x so I have to watch my time closely when I'm doing this look. But overall I really do love it, I'm sure it will look amazing then I perfect my contouring! :D

I've also done a bit of shopping clothing wise:

Ebay.com
Dots.com

I obviously will be wearing a long-sleeved shirt under this, it's too cold otherwise!! The shirt is a 2X so I bought the belt from dots to define my waist line :3 I was surprised (and a bit happy) to see Miyabi wearing the exact same shirt in a post on Facebook!! But I'll be wearing this on Saturday with black jeggings.... All black errthang! I 'm developing an addiction for anything with black - 'cept black and orange. I'm keeping my clothes uniform color for another reason as well....

Etsy.com
My nails have arrived!!! It sounds like I'm cheating, but considering that there's no one in my area who does 3D nail designs, I went to my favorite little handicraft site - www.etsy.com. My new favorite shop is Kawaii Claws! The seller makes tons of styles from Hime to Rokku - She's sure to have something for everyone :) I already have at least two other orders I want to place in the future! Also, if you send her pictures of you wearing the nails (even if it's just your hand) you are eligible for a 10% discount on your next order!! I can't wait to put these babies on!! Check out the Kawaii Claws Etsy Shop and the Kawaii Claws Facebook Page!!

Here's another awesome moment in my life:

I posted this originally on the Natural Hair Facebook Group <3

I can't believe it!! It's almost been one year of being natural! I'm soooo happy mom doesn't call me a boy anymore! XD I'm not going to lie, this has been a struggle. Since I got my hair cut, I broke the beauty salon addiction and learned on my own what my hair likes and doesn't like. Once I get the new site up, I'll definitely be posting more on my hair and my hair care regimen!

Let's see what other interesting things have been going on between my last post and this one...
1. I've developed some space with one of my best friends - we still talk, but I feel like I'm taking a much needed break.

2. I actually get out more with other friends and co-workers! It's been really fun, I even have a dinner date with an old friend from high school tonight!

3. My aunt passed away shortly before Christmas, she was very affectionate and sweet and this month was her birthday month. I'm just glad she's in paradise now...

4. My grandfather turned 101 last month!! I hope I get that luck of the draw somewhere!

5. My ex and I are talking again and ONLY talking. I apologized for being such a psycho after the split... but I really do want my wedges back still dammit! I also clarified that this is a clean break; he thought that once he got back on his feet, I would be running back to him... nuh-uh sweetie! He has to work this time, I'm not dropping into anyone elses arms ever again! DX

So this pretty much sums it all up, my next post will be somewhere around the time of the convention... also by then I will have made my decision as to whether or not I'll be staying with Google, or being proactive and moving my blog to Wordpress.org. I've seen numerous posts about Google not meeting the needs of their users, I want to avoid any issues before falling in any of their little traps. But we shall see, I'll make sure to set aside a post for my decision... keep your fingers crossed guys!!
